Partner-In-Crime.

You know you're blessed when you happen to work with peeps you love. Here's a glass raised to some of the best on staff, featuring my dear partner teacher Crystal Crowns below. Love her so much, I dedicated an entire post to her (not to mention, my very chic abode-away-from-home, the loving classroom I spend the greater part of my days in, minimizing havoc and getting these kids uni-ready). Welcome to a snapshot of my life, as a 2nd grade teacher in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ain't it grand?

Brunchalicious.

Here are a few pix of me and Shannon scooping up some late morning brunch @ Magazine's very own Surrey's. There's no better way to cure a hangover with some serious nosh, especially when covered in cheesy goodness and served atop a plate of braised pork smothered in sauce muy caliente. I couldn't help indulging in my own Migas plate, as well as dipping liberally into Shannon's own platter- hey, Nola's all about letting the good times roll- "Laissez les bon temps rouler", and there really is no better way than landing face-down first into a food orgy of magnanimous proportions.

Who done shot Johnny?

Visited my first "Murder Mystery Party" this past weekend- a hilarious and much suspenseful schmooze fest turned crime-scene, outfitted with actor-guests in full character and reglalia, a wicked plot, and you guessed it, a murder that happens right on the grounds. Guests are given notebooks where they are to ask investigative questions to determine who has the motive to kill. A bit of a flashback from the The Great Gatsby meets Westside Story, it was entertaining to say the least. And the best part of it all? When you see the murderer herself, the very beguiling Hazel Amour, who neglects to raise the very glass of poison she uses on her victim to her own lips. Good fun, and hey, with velvet cake pops and endlessly flowing champagne catered from the guys and gals Scandalous, it was, simply, to die-for.
